Ranmaru is a pessimistic and shy first year college student. He comes from the country and his family are fishermen, a profession he is useless at. He has an inferiority complex, believing almost everything is his fault, and that he gets in the way of others. He's physically weak, but very talented in crafts, and is somewhat forcefully accepted into the Art Squad. He is easily scared and cries often, and usually looks uncertain. After meeting Gouda, he begins to try harder at things, and think less negatively. Ranmaru starts developing feelings for Ruka by chapter 5.
